Sad day today after discovering that a few days ago one of our favorite composers passed away. A big loss for music culture.

Jóhann Jóhannsson, the Icelandic composer, has died. He passed away on Friday, February 9 in Berlin, and the cause of his death is currently unknown. He’s survived by his parents, sisters, and daughter. He was 48.

The wolves will miss you and may your music continue inspiring us

  1. Muchos gracias mi amigos . Not a composer who’s gotten much attention here in the US and definitely not one I’ve run across despite my being a 22 time multiple international composer awards winner myself . So I’m late to the party .. but better late than never thanks to you and the KEXP video you provided .. and obviously … his CD’s will be in my collection as soon as I make the trip to my local independent record store .
