WINNING LOSER - El Solitario

WINNING LOSER

YAMAHA

The restoration was done thoroughly and almost everything was renovated, but always respecting the original patina when possible.

Special 1985 Yamaha SR

The Winning Loser was El Solitario’s first ever bike to be built from scratch, and it was executed to perform in the first edition of the extint Metamorfosis Masiva garage builders contest in Spain. The only two rules to participate in this contest were, to transform a Yamaha SR250 & to spend less than €1.000 in parts.
There was no limit on the amount of hours we could spend fabricating and that is what we did. With over 500 hours the Winning Loser is a true example of what constitutes an El Solitario One-Of-a-Kind Motorcycle.

Everybody thinks that the Winning Loser was thought as an exercise, a design study, a motorcycle not meant to be ridden… but as usual, everybody is wrong. Our little Yamaha 250 gets ridden every now & then by Lazlo, who is one of the chosen few with the talent and balls to beat the tricks out of this untamed mini-gladiator. Obviously with a 3 liter gas range you cannot go far, but every time there is an opportunity to take the metal chick for a spin, she performs in all her glory.
